DELRIN® AF DE588 is a 20% PTFE (Teflon) fiber filled homo-polymer

Acetal that is fully tested and certified for the use by the United States

Navy. DE588 offers low coefficient of friction and long wear life for moving

and rotating parts. DELRIN® AF DE588 advanced Acetal material uses a

combination of PTFE fibers uniformly dispersed in Delrin Acetal resin. The combination results in improved wear characteristics along with toughness, strength, dimensional stability and machinability. The profile also yields a material with superior load bearing capabilities, especially when operating at high speeds. Bearings made with this material can operate at higher speeds while exhibiting reduced wear. These bearings also have very low slip-stick behavior due to highly correlated static and dynamic coefficient of friction.
