PA6 is most commonly manufacured as a cast product in the sheet, plate, rod & tube industry. When deciding which product to use in various applications. PA66 manufactured as extruded product in the sheet, plate, rod, bushing stock and tube industry.

PA66 = Extruded Nylon

 

PA66 compared to PA6 

• absorbs slightly less moisture 

• higher modulus 

• better wear resistance

• better short term heat resistance

• limited sizes and shapes

(Sheet/Plate .010" to 2.000" and rod from .062" to 6.000" diameter)

 

PA6 compared to PA66

• better ductility (due to higher toughness)

• better long term heat resistance

• better impact resistance in low temperatures

• better surface quality

• better creep resistance

• better UV-resistance (depends on filler material)

• lower cost due to manufacturing process

• more ready available stock and product variations grades

(Sheet/Plate starts at .250" thickness and Rod starts at 2.000" diameter)
