PHENOLIC LINEN (GRADE L)
B.I.R.S. Machine & Supply distributes Phenolic Canvas Grade L sheet, rod,
and tube.
Phenolics are thermoset resins formed by the polymerization of phenol and
formaldehyde, which can then be impregnated with cotton canvas or linen,
paper, or glass cloth materials to form industrial laminates. Overall, industrial
laminates are dense, strong and durable, moisture resistant, lightweight, and
will not soften when heat is reapplied. Typically they have high mechanical
and insulating properties.
Phenolic Grade L Laminate Sheet is a fine weave cotton fabric reinforcement in a phenolic resin binder. The natural color is tan/brown. This grade has good mechanical properties, and its fine weave allows more better
machinability, which allows detailed and intricate machining to be possible. It has better moisture resistance than C and CE grades. The "LE" grade has better electrical properties than the "L" grade. Linen-based phenolics are available in a variety of sheet, rod, and tube sizes. This product is also known Linen Phenolic, Micarta L, and Bakelite. Garolite
Note: black color and other thicknesses are available
Better moisture resistance than phenolic canvas grades.
